Time for Change... some of you will have already noticed that we are in the process of updating and changing our website, since 1997 we have created a vast collection of magic effects under the Five of Hearts Brand, which included a catalogue of High End Collectables featuring the wonderful Ornamental Turning of Paul Coker...these collections began in 2005 and made their impact on the World of Magic, Magicians & Collectors around the World, but now after nine years they will no longer be available...on a personal note, we would like to thank Paul for creating some of the most beautiful and amazing magic exclusively for Five of Hearts over the years and for making that journey with us in magic & friendship... Colin & I wish him all the best as he returns to his first love of Ornamental Turning and Restoration Work. Magicians have since the beginning of time used Wands to deflect our attention, enhance their performance skills, add flourish and finesse to movements we can only imagine we saw, or perhaps did not as the case may be ... but sometimes the Wands themselves conceal secrets and mysteries of their own that have been long forgotten in the mists of time and only when we re-visit them do we realise just how wonderful they really are...
Over the years much has been written about the ‘Magic Wand’, it has been chronicled in Freemasonry, Wicca, Ancient Egyptian Ceremonies & Burials, Shamanism, Drumming Sticks and even some Scholars have felt that its roots may have been associated with the symbol of the Phallus...for most of us though, a more modern interpretation of its use has been for a Stage Magician to use it as part of their ‘misdirection’ and they are in this context, traditionally black with white tips.
