Purple Heart Chop Cup (Large)

Purpleheart has a creamy white/gray sapwood but like its name suggests, the heartwood is a bright, striking purple when freshly cut, darkening into a deeper purple with age. It has a medium to fine texture with a lustre that ranges from medium to high; its grain is usually straight but can be wavy or irregular. Found in Central and South America, this exotic wood is a worldwide favourite.

This Classic ‘Goblet’ Style Chop Cup features a number of soft rolled shoulders and ‘cuts’ to the  outer edge with a defining sharp cut leading up to the flat base...remember this wood darkens with oxidisation so it will only improve with age...

 Good handling in performance with a medium weight, the cup height is approximately 4” with a 3” opening.
